Welcome to Dipamkara Meditation Center

Dipamkara Meditation Center in Huntington, New York, was founded in 2000 by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso to fulfill requests made by some of the many residents of Long Island.  This Center is home to a spiritual community of about 200 people working to fulfill the Center's principal aim, which is to provide everyone on Long Island with an opportunity to learn how to meditate and to study and practice Buddha's teachings.

AlishaNestled in the heart of Huntington Village on the North Shore of Long Island, Dipamkara Center provides a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Residents of Long Island are always welcome to use the meditation room, or browse our beautiful bookstore and library while enjoying a cup of tea and friendly conversation.Members of the community along with the Resident Teacher volunteer their time to provide guided meditation sessions, general program classes, weekend workshops, courses and retreats.  All of the general program classes are suitable for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners.  In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to bring wisdom and compassion into our world.  We look forward to welcoming you to this peaceful and inspiring place for meditation, community and spiritual development.
